Bow view of Opheim dory in the National Marine Fisheries Service warehouse on the U.S. Coast Guard Base, Kodiak, August 1978. I believe that this dory was 24 feet long. Opheim dory, view of whole boat. Interior view of dory, forward half. Interior view of dory, aft. This particular dory has a centerboard well, which was not a standard feature of Opheim dories. A disadvantage was that the narrow outboard motor well meant that the motor shaft could not be tilted completely out of the water. Closer view of centerboard and motor wells. Opheim dory, stern. Opheim dory, bow. The interior bottom is painted with marine paint; higher up the sides are coated with a mixture of pine tar and linseed oil. Opheim dory, bow.
